Lowe’s offers Build and Grow clinics for kids every other Saturday at 10:00am. You can view online when the next clinic is and what they’ll be making. This clinic is free and comes with a kit with all the pieces needed to complete the project. The kids also get an apron & goggles and Lowe’s supplies the hammers. Once the project is complete, you child will get a certificate and a patch to put on their apron (think boy scouts for builders). Here in Yuma, along with the certificate and patch is usually a coupon for a free hamburger and small fries at Burger King.**Be sure to arrive on time as the amount of kits vs. kids varies and they could run out. I’ve found in the past that if I get there too late, the Lowe’s staff will usually go to the back of the store and find leftover kits from previous clinics.
The Lowe’s website states that the clinics are recommended for 1st-5th graders, but my boys have been doing these since the age of 2. You just have to be more hands on when they’re younger. Happy building!
