Top of the Kress is a new R&B Club downtown, located on Main Street in the Kress Building. Last night, after a wonderful dinner at DaBoyz Downtown Italian Cuisine, my friends and I headed upstairs to check out Top of the Kress. We were all very impressed with the roof top lounge – it felt more like Vegas than Yuma.
The first floor of the building is DaBoyz complete with its own bar, the second floor has the Top of the Kress lounge area where there was a comedian performing when we arrived and later on band. There’s another room on the second floor that is a nightclub with a DJ and a dance floor – although I must say the DJ didn’t impress me, but maybe I’m just too old? And then, the third floor, the roof, has the open rooftop lounge, which was very comfortable this time of year. Crowds were smaller and more mature in the earlier part of the night and things got much busier as the night went on. If you’re looking for a great compliment to a date night, stop by Top of the Kress after a nice dinner out, enjoy the entertainment and the roof top lounge, it will top off your night!
Tip: There’s a $5 cover charge and a strict dress code: no t-shirts, no hats, and no flip flops.
